Should I commit to volunteering at Winter Jam?

Later the Master selected seventy and sent them ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he intended to go. He gave them this charge:
"What a huge harvest! And how few the harvest hands. So on your knees; ask the God of the Harvest to send harvest hands."   Luke 10:1-2 MSG
I'm sure you know that it takes a lot of people behind the scenes to make a concert happen. People will travel a few hours and show up early to wait in line for good seats, never knowing the days, weeks, and months the band and crew have spent to perform that night, never seeing the multitude of people who have worked all day, and will continue long after the fans have gone home. Often times the band and crew get little sleep on the road between venues, and do it all over again the next day.

So why do they do this?

If you've been to a Christian concert you've probably noticed the working of the One who has called these servants, and gifted them for this work. Maybe you see the young people who are drawn to the music and the artists, who are bombarded by lies, negativity, and confusion on a daily basis. This night they are packed in an arena full of energy and the Spirit of God, hearing maybe even for the first time, the truth: a positive message, a clear and simple answer to the many questions they struggle with every day.  This might even be the night they make a decision that could radically change their life forever. Whether a person has heard of God's saving grace his or her whole life, or for the first time at this event, you never know what He's doing in all those hearts.
This is why they do what they do. These artists are people who are passionate about sharing what is burning in their hearts with the lost and with those of us who are in the battle right along with them.

Are volunteers needed? YES!

This is an opportunity to join hands with others in our community and come along side your brothers and sisters who have come here for the sake of our community. This is where those of us who appreciate the music, bands, presenters, and a live event can share the load and show our appreciation for what they have come here for. Even if you don't know the bands or their music isn't on your playlist; if you appreciate what they are committed to and what our Father is doing through them, this is where you can engage in the Kingdom's harvest.
Is this for you? Ask the God of the Harvest. Prayerfully listen for His leading, and if He sends you, commit to helping in any way you can.

What Volunteers say about it.

"My wife Julie and I got a chance to volunteer at last year's Winter Jam.  We enjoyed greeting people as they came in.  There is something special when you get lots of people that are coming together to worship together.  We got an opportunity to listen to a couple of songs, which was an inspiring worship experience and fun as well.  We also helped count the money from the offering.  We were both surprised by the generosity of the people that gave.  Overall, we saw God at work in the people that were there".

"The first year I volunteered ('10) was a kind of a spur-of-the-moment thing. We were told that they needed help at the merch tables, and we could get in free if we helped. However, while helping at the booth I realized how much I enjoyed working with people. And, the bands that tour are such a blessing to everyone! To be able to go to a concert glorrifying God without having to worry about money (Especially in these hard ecconomic times) is a wonderful thing. So not only was I able to work with people, but I was also able to help the bands keep doing what they do.
That is why I enjoy it".

"Winter Jam! I love helping with Winter Jam!
I can't wait!It impacts so many people, it is truly amazing.
